Learning About the 2012 Election!

Our 8th graders are currently learning about our top 2012 presidential candidates, Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. I created a 2012 Election Webquest for all 7th and 8th graders to complete. While completing this Webquest, our students will be learning about the presidential candidates and where each candidates stands on the top election issues currently being discussed and debated. Students will be going through the research process, and will be focusing on two of the six research steps that are a part of our Big 6 research process. Mr. Erickson and Mrs. Manz have come up with a writing piece that they would like their students to create that will be based on their research that they are completing during this Webquest. Students will be expected to write about the candidate in which they are choosing to vote for. Students will back up their decision with supporting details that they have researched and learned about Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. If time allows, students will be producing short videos that highlight the candidates positions on the top election issues they have been researching.
